HOLA Rose Replenishing Range Review

Wednesday 15 November 2017

I'm a big fan of the HOLA Australia skincare range (their seaweed eye cream is to die for!). So I was excited to find out about the recent release of the HOLA Rose range! A whole new range of products featuring Rose Replenishing Water - made using 1,500 pieces of distilled rose petals!

Of course I jumped at the chance to try out some of these beautiful products!

My products of choice were the Replenishing Essence and the Replenishing Moisturiser.

I chose the essence because one of my all time favourite skincare products has always been the Jurlique Herbal Recovery Serum, and I thought this seemed like a similar product.

I was right - the Replenishing Essence by HOLA Rose is every bit as good as the Jurlique serum! This is such a lovely product! The essence is designed to help brighten and replenish the skin using chamomile, trehalose and of course rose. It feels beautiful on the skin and soaks in almost straight away. My skin just drinks it up and loves it!

The moisturiser is also a beautiful product! The texture is more like a gel than a cream, which personally I love. I sometimes struggle with moisturising creams as I find that they feel heavy on my skin. The Rose Replenishing Moisturiser is completely different. It soaks in quickly, doesn't feel oily on my skin and feels lovely & fresh. It is designed to hydrate, but also lock in the moisture and improve skin texture & appearance.

I can't rave about these products enough, as they are just SO beautiful! They smell amazing and feel so lush and healthy.

The rest of the Rose range includes products like a toner, eye cream, mask and many more which are all available for purchase from Glamourflage.

It's Okay to Frown Sometimes

Wednesday 18 October 2017

Do you ever just feel genuinely let down by your body? I do!

There are so many things I would love to achieve in my life. So many things I'd like to do, or be, or see. But most of the time, my body isn't on board. This is frustrating!

In truth, I feel a lot of guilt writing a post like this, as it is absolutely self indulgent and there are so many others who are far worse off than I am in life. But having said that, this is the only real, true outlet I have where I can vent to the world. We all need that now and again, right?

I'm currently in the midst of an Endometriosis flare, which is bringing a lot of frustration to the forefront. I'm trying a new medication which is making me feel constantly nauseated and disgusting in addition to the pain. And of course my head hasn't eased up either, with migraine after migraine, day in and day out.

When I get like this, I tend to dwell on all the things I desperately want to do - whether it be something as minor as getting up to date with the housework, or something big like travelling. My mind starts to spiral and become overwhelmed with unwanted, negative thoughts.

I don't like myself when I'm like this.

I don't want to be that negative person, always complaining or moping about. I want to be happy and bubbly & excited about life.

Most days, I succeed at painting on a smile and laughing through the pain. But some days, I just don't have the energy. Today is one of those days.

So, I'm allowing myself to frown today. Just for a little while. I don't feel guilty for it and I won't be apologising for my mood.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that when your body betrays you, you're allowed to be pissed off! You're allowed to be sad sometimes and it's perfectly okay!

Sometimes people say "keep smiling!" in that annoying, chirpy tone (you know the one), and I feel like punching them in the face! Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme, but it's true!

The point of this post? In truth, there isn't really one. I just needed to vent to the big wide world for a while.

But if you're also having one of those days and you're feeling let down, or sad, or frustrated by things you can't control - just remember that it's okay to frown, or cry, or scream! You're not alone and this too shall eventually pass.

Hugs! xo

Sydney Fragrance 'Scent of Australia' Soy Candle Review

Monday 20 March 2017

I was given the opportunity recently {lucky me!}, to try out a new range of one of my all-time favourite things – CANDLES!

Sydney Fragrance have recently launched their ‘Scent of Australia’ collection of beautiful, double wicked soy blend candles.

There are ten scents in the range, each one inspired by a unique and special part of Sydney.

For the past week I’ve been burning this beautiful ‘Sunset’ candle, and let me tell you – my house smells amazing! Inspired by a Sydney sunset {of course}, its scent is Coconut, Peach and Sunburnt Sand.

Whenever I get a new candle, my first point of judgement is how good the scent throw is. It can be impossible to predict, because you may smell a candle in store and it have an amazing, strong scent, but then you get it home and find it barely smells at all whilst burning. This is all to do with the ratios of ingredients used, as well as the wick size and quality of oils etc.

Well, I can honestly say this candle didn’t disappoint! As soon as I opened the box, the fragrance was already wafting around the room. And whilst burning, the scent carries beautifully throughout the house, which is what we all want, yes?

Another bonus for me in particular is that although the scent carries well, it is not overpowering. Strong scents can be a major problem for me with my migraines, so I was pleased to find that this one seems to be the right combination of strong, but not too strong, for people like myself.

I would definitely recommend this beautiful collection if you’re anything like me and always on the lookout for a new candle to try. Not only do they smell lovely and burn well, but they look pretty too – beautiful, good quality opaque white jars and pretty boxes.

You can find these candles at Sydney Fragrance, where they retail for $39.95aud for a 360g jar {up to 80 hours burn time}.
